Fat Dog Ranch had a busy 2024 with 7 new animals joining our family. We now have 62 furry, feathered, hoofed and pawed beings living their best lives at the sanctuary. With so many residents, our expenses grew by more than $10k from 2023 expenses. We rescued several animals with expensive medical needs as well as an increase in spay/neuter costs for the puppies that came here (still need to do three more spays!).
We met a guardian angel, Jenny, who works in a veterinary clinic in Albuquerque. Jenny has donated SO MANY surplus medications and food. We also added two part-time Ranch Hands to help with the outside chores. Also notable is the fantastic food and bed donations we received all year from "the yoga ladies" in Yoga Debbie's classes in Sandia Park!
As both Jennifer and I work full-time at our day jobs, we didn't find much time to do fundraising. Nonetheless, our supporters donated $4,240! We hope to do better about fundraising in 2025.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated and scooped poop during 2024. The animals here at our sanctuary are all healthy and happy (except Lita Ford, the chihuahua who hates everyone (even though we love her).
